Campsite on Zealand

A campsite with traditions – and room for new ideas

Sanddobberne Camping is a three-star campsite located right by Sejerø Bay, with a sea view of Nekselø and Sejerø. With an area of 5.5 hectares, there is plenty of space around you, your family or friends, and your dog. The facilities are great, and there are many free activities and events for all age groups.

If you’re looking for a campsite in nature on Zealand with a child-friendly beach, you’ll find 220 different and charming pitches for your own caravan, motorhome, or tent, right here on Zealand’s sunny coast in Odsherred near Asnæs and Vig. Sanddobberne Camping is a partner in the UNESCO Global Geopark Odsherred, and we are the country’s first “geopark campsite.” This means that we incorporate the Geopark’s values into the way we operate the campsite, so LANDSCAPE, CULTURAL HISTORY, ART, and FOOD are very important to us. The campsite is also a member of DK Camp.

As a camper here, you have free access to all shared facilities, including a kitchen, laundry, gallery (though “Creative Wednesday” costs 25 DKK per participant), and showers without coin insertion.
Check-in is after 2 p.m., and check-out is no later than 11:45 a.m.
We take a lunch break between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and an evening break between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. during high season.

REMEMBER that there must be a 3-meter distance to the nearest neighbor.

Standard campsites

The campsite has 165 standard pitches to choose from, all with electricity and water nearby. The pitches vary greatly – some are sunny, others shady, some are tucked away in secluded corners, while others are open and fully exposed to the sun. All of them are scattered around the gently sloping terrain, where they naturally fit in, and all pitches can be booked as seasonal spots.

They are not marked with lines and barriers, and guests can set up their caravan wherever they think is best – as long as they agree with the neighbors, ensuring there is a 3-meter distance to the nearest caravan.

Campsite on the beach

Our campsite also offers beautiful beach pitches. Right by the water, there are two rows of 29 pitches with a stunning view over Sejerø Bay and the sunset. These pitches cannot be booked as seasonal spots. The front row costs more than the others. Here, it’s preferred to park at a right angle to the coast so everyone can enjoy the view, and there is electricity available at all pitches.

The pitch numbers are on tiles, and the arrows in the corners of the tiles indicate which pitch they correspond to. Outside the fence, there is a public walking path.

Campsites near the road

If you’re arriving in a motorhome and need an easy and safe overnight stay, we offer 14 standard pitches, ready for you to drive onto. There is also the option to empty “grey water” and refill clean water for your vehicle right in front of the motorhome pitches.

Big-size pladser

On the Prairie, we offer three extra-large pitches; numbers 99, 102, and 103, which are perfect for the largest caravans – also because they are easy to access. Here you will find a service building, and the beach is just a few minutes away.

Camping is also for children

A campsite for children in Odsherred, Zealand

Sanddobberne Camping in Odsherred is a great choice if you’re looking for a campsite for children. We create the perfect setting for an unforgettable holiday where fun activities, safety, and nature go hand in hand. With a unique location in Odsherred near Havnsø, Asnæs, and Vig, we are right by Sejerø Bay, where children can enjoy the freedom to play, explore, and experience nature up close.

Campsite with fun and child-friendly activities

Our campsite offers a range of exciting and fun activities for children of all ages. With three large playgrounds and two bouncy cushions, there’s plenty of opportunity for climbing, sliding, and playing with other children on the site. The largest playground is located at the main entrance in a lovely car-free area, making it easy to keep an eye on the little ones while they have fun.

The nature playground is centrally located, with picnic tables and a view of the bay. The playground for the youngest is called “The Ship.”

In week 28, there’s a Children’s Festival, where Sanddobberne Camping provides entertainment for the whole family, while also offering space for relaxation and coziness in the beautiful surroundings.

Family-friendly facilities and accommodation

For families with young children, it’s important to have the right facilities available. Sanddobberne Camping offers modern family bathrooms, as well as baby baths with changing tables. There are also kitchen and laundry facilities available, making daily chores easy for families. The bathroom facilities are free and do not require coins, which makes it even more convenient for families.

In the center of the main building, you’ll find a large, covered communal area with space for 60 seated guests. The atmosphere here is wonderfully Mediterranean, with a lounge corner, TV, table football, and a bar (open during activities and festive occasions).

When it comes to accommodation, Sanddobberne Camping offers several child-friendly options. You can rent one of the campsite’s cabins, which have blackout curtains, a terrace with a table and chairs, and are located close to the service building. Alternatively, you can choose one of the fully equipped caravans, which are located right by the beach and within the campsite. The rental caravans come with a awning and all basic equipment.

Campsite by the beach and other nature experiences

Our location right by the beach is perfect if you’re looking for a campsite for children. Here, they can safely play at the water’s edge, build sandcastles, and take a refreshing dip. The beach is ideal for families with young children as the water is shallow and clean, and the waves are calm, with views over Sejerø and Nekselø.

The campsite is located at the foot of Vejrhøj and is part of Geopark Odsherred, offering plenty of opportunities for excursions in the area. Families can go on hiking or cycling trips along the beautiful routes in Odsherred, or perhaps take a ferry trip from Havnsø to the nearby islands, Sejerø and Nekselø.

A perfect campsite for children

With a combination of fun activities, modern facilities, and a safe beach, Sanddobberne Camping makes it easy to create wonderful memories for both children and adults. The Ghost Trail, a brand-new experience located at the far end of the campsite.

For all three routes, you can pick up a free map/answer sheet at the reception.
